Tensions Rise Between the 'Kocharian' and 'Torosyan' Factions
According to the 'Zhoghovurd' daily, tensions and disagreements within the ruling 'Civil Contract' faction are deepening. The members of the faction are divided into several groups. One faction is centered around Andranik Kocharian, while the other, known as the former NGO sector faction, provides unconditional support for Arsen Torosyan, viewing him as a champion of justice for daring to speak out against the falsified elections of the party's governing board and protesting internally.
Another group aligns with Alen Simonian, and there is also a faction of ‘Pashinyan supporters’ who are quick to communicate any developments within the faction to Nikol Pashinyan via SMS, in hopes of gaining his favor.
These factions do not miss any opportunity to accuse one another at various occasions, throwing mud and spreading diverse rumors in the media realm. Relations between the 'Kocharian' and 'Torosyan' factions, in particular, are particularly tense. The supporters of Andranik Kocharian are doing everything possible to weaken Torosyan's position within the party, as well as carrying out an anti-campaign against Torosyan with Pashinyan.
