Doctors Brawl at Martuni Medical Center

The Martuni Medical Center in Gegharkunik Province has been embroiled in controversy as a physical altercation reportedly occurred between the head of the surgical department and one of the surgeons.

According to 168.am, a conflict arose between the two professionals, which escalated when the surgical department head summoned about 30 friends from the same village to the hospital, where they allegedly assaulted the involved doctors. Nurses were also reported to have been hurt in the scuffle.

"The incident took place on February 27. Police even arrived at the scene. It was a significant uproar and a great shame for our community and region," the report stated.

However, the police did not confirm the occurrence of a group assault during their conversation with the media. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated, "No such report or alert has been received."

The director of the Martuni Medical Center, Andranik Harutyunyan, also responded, saying, "We did not have a brawl, and I am not aware of it, to be honest. That information has not been accurately presented to you."
