Details on the Patrol Officer Attempting Theft Who Joined Two Months Ago
A remarkable incident occurred in the Aragatsotn province's Karbi community. Last night, one of the patrol officers attempted to break into several apartments and commit theft; however, the residents managed to thwart his intrusion and beat him so severely that he ended up in the hospital. According to reports, they threw the patrol officer from the second floor.
Sources from Irakanum.am indicate that the patrol officer attempting the theft is a resident of the same Karbi community, has not held any previous jobs, and joined the force just two months ago. The incident has shocked and angered the local residents.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the attempted residential burglary in the Karbi locality under Article 44-254, Part 3, Clause 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as reported by the Investigative Committee.
“One individual was apprehended at the scene, with assistance from the village residents. Preliminary reports indicate that he sustained injuries from falling and was taken to a medical center. The individual has been arrested. On the same day, there were also reports of thefts involving illegal entry into other homes within the same and nearby villages, which have also led to the initiation of criminal proceedings. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of all mentioned incidents,” stated Gor Abrahamyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee.
