VIDEO: March 1st Revealed, but Perpetrators Yet to be Punished – Pashinyan
"March 1st has been revealed, but the perpetrators have not yet been punished," Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today during the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to the victims of March 1. In response to a journalist's question about the reasons for this delay, the head of the executive answered, "for various reasons, including a number of legal decisions."
"The fact that the murderers of March 1 have yet to be identified does not mean that it will not happen. Especially since one of the major issues, which has also been substantiated and proven through criminal proceedings, is that the investigation immediately after March 1, 2008, not only did not make every effort to uncover the committed crime but also exerted all possible efforts to make the revelation difficult or impossible," said the Prime Minister.
Pashinyan reminded that it has been established in the criminal case that some of the bullets found at the crime scene were tampered with. "One can imagine what consequences all this brings. But that has nothing to do with me, at least as much as I can express a position regarding the law enforcement agencies; my position is that we must fully and completely reach the revelation. This has not been removed from our agenda," Pashinyan stated.
This morning, the Prime Minister participated in the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to the victims of March 1 alongside other representatives of the government. Today marks the 15th anniversary of the bloody events of March 1.
