“At the very least, I promise that Azerbaijan will not be happy about it.” - Alen Simonyan
National Assembly President Alen Simonyan addressed the closure of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijani 'environmentalists' following the decision of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations. “Undoubtedly, this will be used by us in all international forums, and I do not think that Azerbaijan will be happy about it. I promise that they will not be happy about it at the very least,” Simonyan stated.
In response to optimistic statements regarding the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Simonyan stressed, “We have long been ready to sign a peace agreement, and we have said this many times. However, the constant new proposals from Azerbaijan and the situation at the border make it challenging to conclude the peace agreement promptly. Nevertheless, we will do everything and will move as quickly as possible in the direction of signing a peace agreement.”
