Levon Aronian Crowned Champion at WR Chess Masters
Former member of the Armenian chess team Levon Aronian (USA) has won the WR Chess Masters tournament held in Düsseldorf, Germany, as reported by the Armenian Chess Federation.
In the playoffs, Aronian defeated Gukesh with a score of 2:0 and Nepomniachtchi 1:0.
The Armenian grandmaster improved his rating by 9.4 points, bringing it to 2745.
It is noteworthy that 10 of the strongest chess players participated in the Düsseldorf tournament. The prize fund for the WR Chess Masters is 130,000 euros, with the winner set to receive 40,000 euros.
