EU Calls on Azerbaijani Authorities Once Again
The European External Action Service has released a statement. The European Union acknowledges the binding ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which states that Azerbaijan must take all necessary measures to ensure the unhindered movement of people, vehicles, and goods in both directions through the Lachin corridor.
The EU remains concerned about the ongoing obstacles in the Lachin corridor and the humanitarian implications for the local civilian population as a result. All concerns raised by Azerbaijan regarding the use of the corridor can and should be exclusively resolved through dialogue.
The EU once again urges the Azerbaijani authorities and all responsible individuals to guarantee freedom and security of movement through the Lachin corridor, in accordance with the commitments made in the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020. We also emphasize the vital necessity of ensuring uninterrupted supply of gas, electricity, and other services to the affected population.
