God Forbid Aggression Against Belarus from Ukraine, Lukashenko Says
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that Minsk will respond to aggression coming from Ukrainian territory, expressing confidence that such actions would garner support from the global community, including China.
“But God forbid there is aggression against Belarus from Ukrainian territory, we will be forced to respond. And I am confident that we will receive support from the entire global community, including China, if aggression occurs,” Lukashenko said in an interview with Chinese media. His words were cited by the Belarusian state publication “SB.Belarus Today.”
Lukashenko mentioned that Minsk is conveying this position to Ukraine as well as to Western countries through different channels.
“I have warned them that, God forbid, aggression is unleashed from Ukrainian territory onto Belarusian territory. We will respond, but this will be a completely different war. It will immediately take on a different nature,” he stated.
The Belarusian president emphasized that Minsk is “seriously prepared to respond” if necessary.
