Poland Considers Fully Closing Border with Belarus
Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski has announced that Poland is prepared to fully close its border with Belarus. “The decision to close the border will be made when the analysis of the situation shows that there is an increased security threat,” he stated during an interview with Rádio Polsko.
Earlier, on February 10, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs issued an order suspending traffic at the Berestovitsa-Bobrowniki Polish-Belarusian border crossing “due to national security interests.” Thus, only one border point, designated for passenger vehicles at Brest-Terespol, will remain operational, whereas the crossings meant for freight vehicles will be closed.
