Yerevan Council Member Responds to "Closed Market Lacks Ramps" Articles
Yerevan Council Member Ashot Sargsyan has commented on Facebook regarding the articles appearing in the news about the "Closed Market lacks ramps" issue. He stated, "In reference to the reports that have surfaced in the media, I would like to inform you that just ten days ago, after my visit to the underground passage, I spoke with the head of the Construction and Renovation Department, Khoren Grigoryan. He assured me that instead of a ramp, it is planned to install an elevator once it is provided to a private entity through a tender.
Incidentally, in many places around the city, underground passages were previously constructed 'incorrectly.' The angle of the stairs is steep, and there is no space for a ramp, which makes elevators the most rational solution. There’s no need to do something just for the sake of doing it if using a ramp will be nearly impossible."
It should be noted that yesterday the renovated underground passage of the Closed Market was opened.
