“I Went to Sleep, But I Knew I Would Be Woken Up Soon”: Stoltenberg on the Start of the Russia-Ukraine Conflict
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg shared insights during an interview about how he spent the night of February 24, 2022. According to AP, he stated, “I went to sleep, but it was a very short night because I knew that soon someone would wake me up… and that happened.”
He added that when he received the call informing him about the conflict, he was not surprised as he was already aware and had been waiting for it.
It is worth recalling that on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special operation against Ukraine. Soon, it will be one year since the bloody Russia-Ukraine conflict began.
