157 Million Drams Allocated for Sending Aid to Turkey and Syria

According to the "Jamanak" newspaper, a total of 157 million 816 thousand drams will be allocated from the government’s reserve fund to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This amount is intended to provide food and bedding supplies to those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

It’s worth noting that the devastating earthquake that occurred on February 6 resulted in more than 41,000 fatalities in Turkey and over 5,000 in Syria. Following the catastrophic earthquakes, Armenia has sent humanitarian aid to Turkey twice.

This aid was made possible through the Margara Bridge, which has been closed since 1993.

Earlier reports indicated that government officials involved in the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations had held two meetings near the Margara Bridge last December, where they assessed the bridge's condition, conducted sampling, and concluded that it is usable.
