US Embassy Denies Russia's Claims of Recruiting ISIS Militants
The United States Embassy in Armenia has denied claims made by the Russian Federal Foreign Intelligence Service regarding the recruitment of Islamic State (ISIS) militants by the US military to carry out terrorist acts in Russia and the CIS region.
In response to an inquiry by 24News, the US Embassy provided the following statement: "This is an absolutely false statement. Russia has long been circulating absurd claims of US support for ISIS, even during the times when the United States was actively and successfully conducting military operations against ISIS strongholds in eastern Iraq. The continuation of such disinformation should not surprise anyone," the statement reads.
