It’s Touching to See Hostility Set Aside: Power on Armenia's Aid to Turkey
It’s so touching to see how decades of hostility are being set aside to help people in urgent need. This was stated by Samantha Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, on her Twitter page.
"For the first time in 35 years (Samantha Power mistakenly indicated this timeframe, as the border has been closed since 1993, nearly 30 years), the border crossing between Armenia and Turkey has been opened to allow assistance to reach those affected by the earthquake. Armenia has sent 100 tons of cargo and a search and rescue team," she wrote.
It is noteworthy that on February 11, Armenia sent humanitarian aid to Turkey. Trucks carrying humanitarian aid crossed the border via the Margara bridge and headed towards the earthquake-affected regions.
