Russia Has Not Requested to Open a Consulate in Syunik Province of Armenia
Russia has not requested Armenia to open a consulate in the Syunik province, the press service of the Russian Embassy has informed ArmeniaSputnik. No applications have been transmitted to the Armenian side through the embassy.
Earlier, the newspaper Joghvoroutyun reported that the Russian embassy expressed such a desire following the opening of the Iranian Consulate General in Kapan. The newspaper sent an inquiry to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for clarification, to which they responded that Armenia has not received any official proposal from Russia.
