Ombudsman Responds to Attack on Lawyers and Minors

The Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia has initiated a discussion procedure regarding the case of lawyers being assaulted. This information was published on the Ombudsman's Facebook page.

“Any manifestation of violence is condemnable and unacceptable, especially against a lawyer carrying out their professional duties. We will be consistent in ensuring the effective investigation of this case and holding the guilty parties accountable,” the statement reads.

It was previously reported that on February 8, lawyers Marzpet Avagyan and Emanuel Ananyan were assaulted at the Erebuni police division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Earlier, minors represented by these lawyers were also subjected to violence at the same police division.
