Syria Demands Lifting of Sanctions Imposed on the Country
Syria demands the lifting of sanctions imposed on the country, which is the legitimate right of the Syrian people. This was stated by the Minister of Health of the Arab state, Hasan al-Habash, during a press conference held on Thursday. His speech was broadcast by the Al Ekhbariya television channel.
“A clear decision must be made regarding the lifting of sanctions and the cancellation of the boycott imposed against the Syrian state and the Syrian people. This does not mean that we are asking for something. It is our right, the right of the Syrian people and the Syrian state,” the minister said.
According to him, Syria will compensate for the deficit caused by Western sanctions through the joint efforts of all state institutions, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations. The Syrian minister noted that Western sanctions do not take into account the lives of citizens, even when they are threatened by natural disasters.
