EU Leaders Refuse to Fulfill Zelensky's Main Request: Bloomberg
European leaders have shown no willingness to send modern fighter jets to Ukraine, despite Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky's request during his visit to Paris. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing an anonymous source from the EU.
"European leaders have clearly informed Volodymyr Zelensky that they are ready to provide additional military assistance to Ukraine, but no one has yet committed to supplying fighter jets," the publication states.
It is noteworthy that Kyiv has been demanding fighter jets and long-range missiles from the West. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has not excluded the possibility of the Ukrainian Armed Forces receiving F-16s, but Ukrainian pilots will require training.
Poland has expressed willingness to provide fighter jets only if NATO member countries make a joint decision. U.S. President Joe Biden, as well as French leader Emmanuel Macron, have ignored Kyiv's request.
However, Zelensky's office has reported that the issue of "long-range missiles and fighter jets is resolved for Ukraine."
