Blinken Delays Visit to China Due to Spy Balloon Incident
The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will delay his visit to China due to a situation involving a spy balloon. This was reported by ABC News.
“Blinken will postpone his upcoming visit to Beijing, which was originally scheduled for next week,” the television network reported, citing an anonymous official.
The source elaborated that Blinken does not wish to cancel the visit to avoid escalating the situation but also does not want the issue of the balloon to dominate the upcoming discussions.
It is worth noting that the Financial Times had earlier reported that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Beijing next week.
