NATO Will Be Forced to Choose: Either Turkey or Sweden and Finland, Says Former NATO Commander
Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander James Stavridis has addressed the ongoing tensions between Turkey and Sweden and Finland, according to Ermenihaber. Turkey continues to threaten the two Scandinavian countries, stating that it will not approve their NATO membership unless its demands are met.
Previously, Erdogan introduced a new thesis, stating that if Finland wishes to become a NATO member, it must separate its candidacy from Sweden’s. It is known that the Scandinavian countries wish to join NATO together.
The former commander has warned that if Turkey continues its current behavior, NATO will be faced with a dilemma: either Turkey or Sweden and Finland.
