Zakharyan's Transfer to Chelsea Likely, Says Yarovinski

The former sports director of Kazan's Rubin, Oleg Yarovinski, believes that Arsen Zakharyan's transfer to Chelsea in London is likely.

"This is a rare case. The interest in Arsen, I think, is a real story. Besides Chelsea's desire to acquire Zakharyan, it is also necessary to be confident that this transaction is financially possible. But it's not as easy as it seems. Until 2022, the football world had quite a simple and transparent scheme for conducting transfer activities, which protected the buying club, the selling club, and the player from negative consequences. Now, this system does not exist for Russian clubs. Transactions are carried out with significant risk. Russian clubs are likely to lose not only the player but also the money paid for him. Signing the documents is not enough; it is important that the money is transferred," Yarovinski's words are quoted by Sport24.

Earlier, it was reported that the English club would not be able to carry out the transfer of the 19-year-old footballer in January due to anti-Russian sanctions.
