US Embassy in Turkey Issues Warning
The US Embassy in Turkey has once again warned American citizens to remain vigilant against potential terrorist attacks.
In a statement, the embassy advised, “The US government alerts its citizens about possible and imminent terrorist attacks on churches, synagogues, and diplomatic missions in Istanbul or other areas frequented by residents of Western countries. Specifically, these locations include the neighborhoods of Istanbul, Beyoğlu, Galata, Taksim, and İstiklal.”
The report notes that this warning was “updated on January 27, 2023, following incidents related to the burning of the Quran in Europe.”
