Erdogan: Sweden Will Not Receive Support from Us on NATO Matters
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that Ankara will not support Sweden's application to join NATO. Anadolu reported on this development.
“The despicable act carried out in Sweden is an affront to everyone who respects fundamental human rights and freedoms, including the rights and freedoms of Muslims,” Erdogan stated, referring to the Quran burning incident that took place in Stockholm last week.
If Sweden does not respect Turkey and the religious sentiments of Muslims, it will not receive any support from us regarding its NATO membership application,” he emphasized.
