Pashinyan and Blinken Hold Phone Conversation: What Was Discussed
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has held a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The interlocutors discussed the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor, which has created a dire situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor represents yet another provocative act and constitutes a clear violation of the commitments made under the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020.
Secretary of State Blinken emphasized the importance of the unimpeded operation of the Lachin corridor and expressed the U.S.'s readiness to continue facilitating a resolution to this issue.
The two also exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the protection of the rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, the assurance of security, the unblocking of regional infrastructures, and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey.
