PKK Attempts to Prevent Sweden's NATO Membership, Çavuşoğlu Discusses Erdoğan's Effigy
The PKK is laying mines on Sweden's road to NATO membership. This was stated by Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, commenting on a protest in Stockholm where an effigy of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was hung by its feet, according to Anadolu.
"The terrorist PKK/YPG organization is conducting hostile propaganda. The target of these terrorists is Turkey. With their provocations, they are trying to prevent Sweden's accession to NATO. It is Sweden's choice to either clear these mines or deliberately step on them," Çavuşoğlu said during an interview on TRT Haber.
Earlier, the Swedish ambassador to Turkey was also summoned by the Turkish Foreign Ministry regarding this issue.
