The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Armenia has presented the epidemic situation regarding Ebola. The risk of importation and subsequent spread of Ebola in the Republic of Armenia is assessed as low.

As of August 20, the outbreak of Ebola caused by the Bundibugyo virus continues in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As of August 19, there have been 5,290 confirmed cases and 2,516 deaths reported. The epidemiological situation remains tense. The main focus is in Ituri province, although cases have also been reported in other provinces. There have been imported cases reported outside the People’s Republic of China, but sustained transmission of the disease is not currently being observed. In Uganda, the local outbreak was declared over on July 28.

The HWCPP national center continues to monitor the international epidemiological situation and implement the temporary recommendations of the WHO.
