Klaar Addresses Reports of European Observers in the Lachin Corridor
The EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, has commented on Twitter regarding the circulating video purportedly showing European Union observers conducting monitoring in the Lachin Corridor. He stated, “A video is circulating showing that EU mission observers are conducting a monitoring mission on the road leading to the Lachin Corridor. The observer was at a post about 1.2 km away from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at that time. The EU monitoring mission operates solely within the territory of Armenia in accordance with its mandate and has not entered the corridor area,” Klaar wrote.
It is worth reminding that earlier, a video had circulated indicating that European observers unexpectedly appeared in the Lachin Corridor.
