Russian National Verdiyan Detained in Moscow on Charges of Treason
The Lefortovo Court in Moscow has detained a Russian national with the surname Verdiyan on charges of treason against the state. This was reported to TASS by the court on Tuesday.
According to a decision made by the Lefortovo Court on November 7, Verdiyan G.K. is suspected of committing a crime under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (‘Treason’). As a measure of restraint, detention has been selected, the agency's source said.
The punishment stipulated by this article includes imprisonment for a term of 12 to 20 years. It is noted that the case has been classified as “highly confidential,” and the details of the charges are not known.
