Mirzoyan Hosts Members of OSCE Needs Assessment Mission
On October 22, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan welcomed the needs assessment mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), led by Colonel Robert Arkadiusz Tkaczik, a representative of the Polish presidency in the OSCE. This information was reported by the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Welcoming the members of the mission, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the OSCE needs assessment mission in Armenia, necessitated by the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty on September 13-14, fully aligns with the organization's mandate and objectives.
The decision to send the OSCE needs assessment mission to the Republic of Armenia was made based on Armenia's request and in accordance with the decisions of the OSCE Ministerial Council, which were accepted with the consensus of all participating countries, by the current presidency of the OSCE and its Secretariat.
The Armenian Foreign Minister expressed hope that the mission's activities, observations, and final report would serve as a source of objective information for the OSCE presidency, Secretariat, and member countries regarding the situation created after the Azerbaijani aggression. He also noted that it would play a role in preventing new potential aggressions and establishing stable peace in the region.
A representative of the Armenian Armed Forces General Staff presented the situation in the border areas to the mission members during the meeting.
