Discussion on 'Military Actions Between Armenia and Azerbaijan' Expected
During the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) starting on October 10, a discussion on 'Military Actions Between Armenia and Azerbaijan' has been proposed, according to the assembly's press service. The final decision, as stated in the announcement, will be made on Monday.
Last month, in connection with the Azerbaijani armed forces' attack on Armenia, PACE called on 'Azerbaijan and Armenia to refrain from any further actions that could exacerbate the situation, to respect international agreements, and to immediately start peaceful negotiations.'
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe also expressed concern over the military actions taking place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and offered support for the peace efforts of Yerevan and Baku as members of the organization.
