NATO's Former Secretary General: Germany and France Could Have Done More
NATO's former Secretary General Anders Fog Rasmussen has stated that Germany and France "could have done more" in terms of supplying weapons to Ukraine, according to Armenpress.
In an interview with Politico, Rasmussen expressed his confusion as a European regarding what he would consider a very modest European contribution. "Although I must admit that the (contribution) has increased in recent months, the Germans could have done more. They should supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine, while France should provide more Caesar howitzers... I hope that both countries will intensify their efforts," Rasmussen stated.
Previously, Russia sent a note to NATO countries regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Lavrov noted that all shipments containing weapons for Ukraine would become legitimate targets for Russia. The Russian foreign ministry has declared that NATO countries are "playing with fire" by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, indicated that the West's supply of arms to Ukraine does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have negative consequences, as reported by RIA Novosti.
