How Much Investment Has Russia Made in Azerbaijan's Economy This Year?
Russian investments in Azerbaijan's economy, as of the beginning of this year, amount to $6.3 billion. This was announced by Russia's Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov. Of these investments, $5 billion has been made in Azerbaijan's oil sector.
More than a thousand enterprises operate in Azerbaijan with Russian capital in the fields of hydrocarbons extraction, transportation, chemical industry, energy, oil refining, pharmaceuticals, machine engineering, and freight transportation. A key area of mutual interest with significant potential is transit.
Reshetnikov noted that Russia considers Azerbaijan its traditional partner and that new logistics opportunities are currently opening up in Azerbaijan, presenting key logistics directions.
