Hungarian Foreign Minister on Gas Supplies: "I Don’t Know What They Think About It"
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that Hungary has sufficient gas reserves in its storages thanks to supplies from the Russian Federation as winter approaches. However, several other European countries may not be able to survive the winter without Russian fuel.
"I cannot speak for other countries, but in Hungary, if Russian gas supplies are cut off, we will not be able to cope with the winter. Right now we can because we have enough gas, but several other European countries cannot survive the winter without Russian gas. Nevertheless, I don’t know what they think about it in Western European countries," said the Hungarian Foreign Minister.
