UN Security Council Calls for Ceasefire Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Members of the UN Security Council called for an immediate ceasefire between Baku and Yerevan during their meeting today. This was stated to journalists by Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN.
“Everyone unanimously advocated for an urgent cessation of hostilities and the settlement of the situation through political and diplomatic means,” Nebenzya said.
Since 00:05 on September 13, Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been intensively firing on Armenian positions in the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk using artillery and large-caliber firearms. The adversary is also employing drones. Later, Azerbaijan used artillery against other directions as well.
The current number of casualties on the Armenian side is 49.
