Nuclear Disaster in the Making: Russian Defense Ministry Reports
A potential nuclear disaster is being engineered by Kyiv, as on August 29, four drones were launched towards the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, all of which were shot down. This information was provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Ministry noted that one of the drones fell on the roof of Building No. 1, which stores American-made nuclear fuel and solid radioactive waste. "We have managed to avoid casualties and destruction,” the ministry stated.
Additionally, over the past day, Ukrainian artillery fired two shells towards the vicinity of the nuclear power plant, which exploded near Building No. 1. The shelling originated from the Marhanets region of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
“The RF Armed Forces suppressed the enemy’s firepower in response. The radiation situation at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant continues to remain within normal limits,” the agency added.
The Defense Ministry also stated that Russian military aviation destroyed five Ukrainian headquarters, three ammunition and weapon storage sites, and 58 artillery units.
Furthermore, the report mentioned that Russian soldiers using high-precision ground-based weapons eliminated over 200 assault troops fighting for Ukraine, including around 40 foreign mercenaries in the Alexandrovka region of Dnipropetrovsk.
It should be noted that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation against Ukraine, following requests for assistance from the LPR and DPR. The military actions in Ukraine have been ongoing for the 187th day.
