Italian Prime Minister Resigns
Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi has resigned. This was stated in a declaration published on the website of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella. The President of Italy has accepted the Prime Minister's resignation. Draghi's government will remain in power to address "current issues."
It is worth recalling that Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi announced on Thursday in the lower house of Parliament that he was going to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, to tender his resignation. On Wednesday, the Italian Senate expressed confidence in the Prime Minister, but by the smallest margin. Less than half of the senators participated in the vote.
