“We are happy to see the return of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan,” wrote Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Khamenei on his Twitter page.
“Of course, if there is a policy to close the Iran-Armenia border, the Islamic Republic will oppose it, as this border is a thousand-year-old connecting route,” Khamenei added in his post.
