The Buffet of the National Assembly is Being Renovated: 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that renovation work has begun in the cafeteria of the National Assembly. In order for the staff and deputies of the National Assembly not to go hungry, the cafeteria has been moved almost outside the building to the press room, which has an entrance from the outside and was hardly used by journalists.
However, in the press room, the temporarily located buffet only provides coffee and fast food items. The main area of the cafeteria is undergoing major renovations, from the kitchen to the walls, furniture, and tableware updates.
Sources from the National Assembly stated that they plan to complete the renovations by mid-September, but did not disclose how much funding has been allocated for the renovations and which company is conducting the work.
It was mentioned that part of the expenses is being covered by the head of the staff, businessman Vahan Naribekyan, which is rather unusual. The workers doing the renovations are employees of the National Assembly's economic department, meaning no construction company has been involved so far; they are trying to organize the work using their own resources. Later, it is possible that they will invite a construction organization through a competitive bidding process.
In September, a new competition will also be announced for the operation of the National Assembly cafeteria, which will determine whether the current company will remain or a new one will take over. It should be noted that those previously operating the cafeteria regularly faced challenges, as working in the National Assembly has always been complicated.
