We Must Prepare with Utmost Seriousness: Nairi Hokhikyan
Journalist Nairi Hokhikyan writes: “The current state of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations does not inspire any optimistic hope that we will soon have stable peace or at least that there will be no war. The Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia has convincingly and vigorously declared that the process with Azerbaijan has not reached a deadlock. This clearly indicates that the process is indeed at a standstill, and the recent phone conversation between Erdoğan and Pashinyan was not coincidental.
I believe the Turkish president has presented ultimatums to Nikol Pashinyan in exchange for a peace treaty and the opening of borders; otherwise, Azerbaijan may be pushed back onto the battlefield at any moment. Let us not forget that before the war in 2020, Nikol Pashinyan referred to Ilham Aliyev as cultured and peace-loving. We must also remember that the enemy has now constructed new military units near the front line.
In these circumstances, Turkey and Great Britain desperately need a military escalation in our region. This would open a second front for Russia. Geopolitical processes and the fifth division of the world cannot bypass us. We must prepare with utmost seriousness for unforeseen events.”
