Aram Vardevanyan Reminds of Pashinyan's Statements on Turkey
It is evident that anyone holding a public office must be held accountable for their statements. Moreover, for those in the highest positions, the bar is set much higher. This is what Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the 'Hayastan' faction, expressed on his Facebook page.
He also noted, “It has been publicly stated numerous times that the normalization of relations with Turkey cannot be viewed in isolation due to Turkey's role in the circumstances of the 44-day war. Of course, let's recall Nikol Pashinyan's statements: 'Turkey has returned to the South Caucasus to continue the Armenian genocide.' (10.02.2020); 'Terrorists imported from the Middle East are fighting alongside Azerbaijan under Turkey's sponsorship.' (10.02.2020); 'And now Turkey is not solving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue at all. Turkey is trying to continue its policy of genocide against Armenians, because Armenia and the Armenian people in the South Caucasus are the last obstacle on its path of expansion to the north, east, and southeast.' (13.10.2020).
Now let us note that there has been no action regarding what was stated, no consistency, no change in Turkey's policy, the disgraceful declaration on Shushi, and Armenia's response: on 11.07.2022, 'the Prime Minister of Armenia congratulated the President of Turkey on the occasion of Kurban Bayram.'”
