140 Hectares of Land Sold to 'Tsarukyan' Foundation at the Foot of Mount Hatis
While the Armenian government positively responded to the proposal of installing a statue of Jesus Christ at its previous session, vast lands at the foot of Mount Hatis have been sold at a minimal price to the 'Gagik Tsarukyan' charitable foundation.
'Hetq' has discovered that in May-June 2022, around 140 hectares of land in the administrative territories of Akunk, Hatis, and Zovashen communities in Kotayk Province were auctioned off to the 'Gagik Tsarukyan' charitable foundation.
For instance, a 20-hectare plot in the village of Akunk was sold for only 1 million 600 thousand drams. In the same community, a 19.7-hectare plot was sold for 1 million 576 thousand drams. Another plot of 17 hectares adjacent to the sold lands went for 5 million 740 thousand drams, while another 20-hectare plot was sold for 7 million 900 thousand drams.
The publication states that more details will soon be revealed regarding the story of the land sales.
