Close Sputnik-Azerbaijan as it is led by an ethnically Armenian Margarita Simonyan, says Azerbaijani MP

Azerbaijani MP Bahruz Maharramov, a member of the Milli Mejlis Legal Policy and State Building Committee, has called for the closure of Sputnik-Azerbaijan agency, as it is led by the ethnically Armenian Margarita Simonyan, Azerbaijani media report.

Maharramov expressed concerns that this factor could lead the agency to become a mouthpiece for Armenian revanchism.

This opinion is considered quite strange, as Sputnik Azerbaijan is currently one of Baku’s main propaganda resources. It is also noteworthy that the agency, in its eagerness to serve the Baku regime, often overlooks its Russian resource background and is frequently ready to act against Russian interests.
