How Armenia Voted on Resolutions Regarding the Russia-Ukraine Conflict
The newspaper "Fact" reports: "The 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly took place in Indonesia, with the participation of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Armenia, led by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan. According to our information, two resolutions regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict were presented for discussion at the assembly.
One of them, characterized by its marked anti-Russian sentiment and harsher assessments, was presented by the delegation of New Zealand, while the other, a more balanced approach, was presented by the delegation of Indonesia. According to our sources, Ukraine also circulated a document but withdrew it at the last moment, calling for a vote in favor of the New Zealand version. Ultimately, the proposal put forth by New Zealand was "victorious."
According to "Fact," the Armenian delegation abstained from voting on that version and voted in favor of the more balanced option, namely the one presented by Indonesia. Incidentally, it is noteworthy that several other countries voted similarly to the Armenian delegation, including Iran, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Paraguay, Qatar, Syria, UAE, Tanzania, Vietnam, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Bahrain, Belarus, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, China, and Jordan.
