EU Plans New Sanctions Against Russia
Due to the war against Ukraine, discussions are underway in the European Union about the possibility of imposing new sanctions on the Russian Federation. Russian media reports this, citing Clément Beaune, the French Secretary of State for European Affairs.
He made the statement following a meeting of the General Affairs Council of the European Union in Brussels. “In recent days, we have seen an escalation of military operations in Ukraine, and it is highly likely that new sanctions will be imposed fairly quickly. We do not see any de-escalation from Russia; therefore, the European Union will continue to exert pressure on Russia,” he said.
