German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Putin
Russian President Vladimir Putin's actions pose a threat to European security, as he seeks to recreate the Russian Empire. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a speech in the Bundestag, according to RBC.
“Putin wants to create a Russian Empire,” the Chancellor said, adding that Europe cannot allow this conflict between Putin and the free world to reopen old wounds and create new shocks.
According to the source, Scholz also announced that Germany will now spend more than 2% of its GDP on defense each year.
