Suspect in High-Profile Crime Found; Names of Notable Individuals Circulate
On February 16, officers from the main department of the criminal police of the RA Police conducted a special operation. According to shamshyan.com, the operation, which was named "Top Secret," resulted in the discovery of 37-year-old Grigori Grigoryan, who was registered in Yerevan, at an apartment in the first lane of Kievyan Street.
According to information from the site, Grigoryan was wanted by the Erebuni division of the police under Article 34-104, Part 2, Points 1, 6, and 7, and Article 235, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
Grigoryan has been transferred to the penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice.
It was previously reported that the Investigative Committee of Armenia had initiated a criminal case at the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative district investigative department under the features of Point 6 of Article 34-104, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code (attempted murder in a manner dangerous to the lives of many). This case was opened following gunfire incidents that occurred in Yerevan on January 13.
According to operational data, police and investigators identified that on the same day, an argument broke out among a group of individuals in the parking lot of a cemetery on David Bek Street in the Erebuni administrative district, during which gunshots were fired. As a result, two Mercedes vehicles were damaged, which were later found in the parking lot near the "Radisson Blu" hotel complex on Freedom Avenue and near the main entrance. Four 9 mm and two 7.62 mm caliber cartridges were found at the scene.
One of the participants in the confrontation is 33-year-old Rustam Stepanyan, known to the public as a businessman, while the other participant is known as "Shinarnery Faz" in Cheremushki. Police and investigators are also clarifying information regarding two mysterious individuals referred to as "The Bottle Catcher" and "Lolo," who, according to electronic media reports, are believed to be connected to the aforementioned crime.
According to the site, the license plates of the Mercedes G500, A 777 AA 777 RUS, were fake, and the vehicle belonged to Stepanyan, who had previously been wanted for a crime and was discovered and neutralized by officers from the organized crime division, known to the public as the 6th main department, and was taken to the police.
