Armed Robbery in Akunk: Victim’s Son-in-Law and Daughter Intervene

An armed robbery occurred yesterday in the village of Akunk, Gegharkunik Province. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reported that the incident took place around 11:00 PM.

A masked individual entered one of the residences in Akunk, struck the female resident in the face, and threatened her with a knife while demanding money. However, the assailant noticed that the woman’s daughter and son-in-law were visiting, which led him to cease his actions and flee the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated under points 3 and 4 of part 2 of Article 175 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, which pertains to robbery. An examination of the crime scene has been conducted, and forensic genetic and medical examinations have been scheduled.

Efforts are being made to identify and locate the alleged perpetrator.
