Georgia Registers 6 Tremors During the Night with a Magnitude of 3.1
After a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, Georgia recorded an additional 6 tremors with a magnitude of 3.1. This is confirmed by the data from the country's National Seismological Center.
Residents of Tbilisi felt the earthquake at 22:25 local time on Sunday. According to the National Seismological Center, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred near the town of Dmanisi in the Javakheti region, located 58 kilometers from Tbilisi.
Seismologists report that the next tremor took place at 22:28 in the same location, registering a magnitude of 4.5. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 11 kilometers.
Subsequent tremors began to decrease in intensity by 00:14, reaching 3.1 magnitude, with the last earthquake recorded at 03:35 local time, measuring 3.5 in magnitude.
The initial earthquake was felt in neighboring countries, including Armenia, where it registered at a level of 5 and in Azerbaijan, where it was felt at 3.5.
