URGENT: PHOTOS: Armenian Peacekeepers Deployed to Kazakhstan

Based on the decision of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO regarding the sending of collective peacekeeping forces to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited time under Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty, and in accordance with the provisions of the agreement on the peacekeeping activities of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Armed Forces of Armenia have dispatched a peacekeeping unit (comprising 100 soldiers) to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the mission, the Armenian Armed Forces peacekeeping unit will exclusively perform functions related to the protection of strategically important buildings and infrastructure.
