One of the license plate thieves selling them via Telegram has been revealed: Police

In order to avoid falling into the trap of criminals, we remind our citizens that according to the government decision of July 15, 2021, it is permitted to issue duplicates of lost or stolen license plates. This means that car owners are now protected from such criminal acts. This is reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

"Information had been received at the Vagharshapat police department that a resident of Pushkin Street in Ejmiadzin was stealing car license plates. After verifying the authenticity of the information, on December 1, the suspect was apprehended on Vazgen Sargsyan Street in Ejmiadzin and taken to the Vagharshapat police department. Stolen license plates were found during a personal search. It turned out that he had been regularly stealing license plates and demanding money in exchange for returning them by contacting car owners via Telegram. The young man has been presented to the investigative department of Armavir. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident.
